I’ve been a business professional for over 30 years, but my passion for the written interest began in my hogh school Literature and English classes. In university, I may have majored in Political Science and History, but my love was still Literature and English (which became one of my two minors).
My love spilled into the written word when I became an editor for the University newsletter. My creative side overflowed as I wrote hundreds of poems and short stories. My love of writing grew into memoir writing, and more recently into storytelling for podcasts.
Throughout my academic and business career, I have always been the go to person for friends and coworkers for reviewing and editing their business documents and resumes. I developed business programs and curriculums for two educational institutes, and worked as a part-time Teachers Assistant while working as their business administrator. My business writing skills grew as I began writing User Manuals, Business Plans, and System Requirements Specifications (SRS) for the IT industry.
I am currently a full-time Project Manager, and continue to give my free time as a writer, web-developer, and editor to both the Women’s and Pride Network for my current company.
Now I have not only found enjoyment helping my coworkers, I discovered my love of working with fiction writers, and have began editing their novels and short stories.
I have worked with various new writers as well as provided coaching and advise on how to break into the writing industry. I continue my professional development through the Editors Canada online webinars on the essentials of writing and publishing as well as expanding my own research.
I have worked with authors on multi-part series that are in development with agent and publishing houses as well as short fiction and blog writers.
I love reading dark thrillers, any variety of paranormal, speculative dark fantasy, and fun novels with more magical story plots.
I’m married to a creative musician, and am learning to play the drums. I also love our fuzzy children (currently a Siberian Husky and a crazy Chocolate Lab). Animals one of my passions, and I donate to as many rescue causes as I can. I am also a bear awareness and bat educator, and a member of the International Bat Organization for over 25 years.
